At the end of spring 2024, we finished studying “The Holy Spirit: An Introduction” by Fred Sanders. We are moving on to study “The Trinity: An Introduction” by Scott R. Swain. Its published by Crossway and available on Amazon.
Contact our teaching pastor for more information about the study, and for an invite to the Zoom meeting if you can’t make it in person. Optionally, join us for breakfast afterwards at a local restaurant for fellowship.
Our theology study group meets every other Saturday morning at 6:30am, generally on the opposite weekend of the Sunday morning 1689 London Baptist Confession Study. Typically we have around 10-20 people meeting in the fellowship hall, plus 5-10 from around the world joining in by Zoom. Reach out to our pastor for details and to join the mailing list, so you know what to read in advance. Optionally, join us for breakfast afterwards at a local restaurant for fellowship.
Book overview (by Crossway)
The Trinity is one of the most essential doctrines of the Christian faith.
The eternal God existing as three distinct persons—Father, Son, and Spirit—can be difficult to comprehend. While Christians often struggle to find the right words to describe this union, the Bible gives clarity concerning the triune God’s being and activity in nature (creation), grace (redemption), and glory (reward). In this concise volume, theologian Scott Swain examines the doctrine of the Trinity, presenting its biblical foundations, systematic-theological structure, and practical relevance for the church today.
