The centrality of our worship is the preaching of the Word of God, in which we engage in exposition and application of the truth. We believe that preaching should reflect the words of Paul in 1 Corinthians 1:23-24: “we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks foolishness, but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.”
We believe that doctrine is vitally important, and that it is the foundation for proper and joyful praise to our Triune God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Paul urged the Philippians to strive for the faith of the gospel, and Jude exhorted his needful audience to earnestly contend for the faith. To give God the praise that is due His name, we engage in teaching our congregation the whole counsel of God from the Holy Scriptures.
