Brethren,
Greetings in the Lord Jesus.
There are no changes affecting worship on this Sunday. We will have Confession study (ch.24) at 9:30a.m. (available on Zoom), morning worship at 11:00a.m., and evening worship at 5:00p.m. Both services will be livestreamed as is our custom. We will be partaking of the Lord’s Supper in the evening service and will take the necessary precautions in terms of health and safety. Please try and arrive early as we have had to turn people away in the past.
Going forward, we are presently thinking through a rotation of sorts with reference to church attendance. Optimally, the government will remove the restrictions that are presently affecting churches. Just so all of you are aware, I have signed a joint letter (many churches signed) that was prepared to address this very issue which was sent to our Premier. Additionally, I wrote the Premier a letter this morning in light of the obvious inconsistencies going on in Canada; i.e., you can protest with what appears to be little to no concern about Covid-19, but you still can’t meet for church in some provinces and are still heavily restricted in other provinces. I argued the essence of last Sunday night’s sermon and requested that the Premier allow churches to meet immediately and without further phases or restrictions.
I want to remind everyone — it is ultimately up to you as to whether you attend church or not in light of the Covid-19 virus, but it is imperative that we maintain a church to worship in should you decide to take the calculated risk and attend public worship.
I remain available to meet with anyone during this time via in-person meeting (your house or my office), phone, Zoom, text, etc. I seek to pray for each of you regularly and thank God Almighty for this church and want very much for us to be able to meet together without having to turn anyone away.
